We Need the Humanities in the Age of AI
In his latest Dallas Morning News op-ed, Thanks-Giving Foundation President and CEO Kyle Ogden makes the case that the rapid rise of AI makes the humanities more important, not less.
Technology can give us extraordinary new capabilities. But philosophy, history, literature and ethics help us wrestle with the questions technology cannot answer for us: What is good? What is just? What do we value? How should we live together?
As AI becomes increasingly powerful, Kyle argues, we will need more than technical expertise. We will need judgment, wisdom, empathy, moral reasoning and a deeper understanding of the human experience.
