For 50 years, Thanks-Giving Square has occupied a unique place in the heart of Dallas: a shared sacred space where people of all beliefs and backgrounds can come together—from common ground to higher ground.
Each year, approximately 300,000 people visit the Square for reflection, connection and shared experience. But Thanks-Giving Square is more than a place. It is also a movement—bringing people together through interfaith initiatives, civic conversations, community partnerships and year-round programming.
At a time when our communities can feel increasingly divided, that mission matters. Thanks-Giving Square creates opportunities for people to encounter—and practice—the values that help a city thrive: respect, civility, kindness and gratitude.

For decades, an annual payment from the City of Dallas provided significant operating support for the Thanks-Giving Foundation. The City did not make that payment in 2026, creating an unexpected and substantial financial challenge for the organization.
