The board and staff of The Thanks-Giving Foundation mourn the loss of our visionary founder Peter Stewart. Peter lived 97 meaningful years and was actively engaged to the end. His creative genius is evidenced by the truly unique place and idea that is Thanks-Giving Square…a spiritual place where the idea of celebrating the spirit and unifying value of giving thanks is promoted. Peter’s was a life well lived, and his place and idea lives on!
His life beautifully expressed the transformative power of gratitude. We hope his example will continue to inspire efforts to bring the world together in thanks.Almas Muscatwalla
In my eyes he is a national treasure to have founded and nurtured Thanks-Giving Square as his life's work. It was an honor to know him.Linda Abramson Evans
Peter was one of Dallas' pioneer leaders of interfaith dialogue and cooperation and was the founder of Thanksgiving Square. A tireless promoter of international, intercultural, and inter-religious understanding, over many decades he became a friend and advisor to business and political leaders worldwide.Dr. Robert Hunt, PhD
I feel privileged to have gotten to know Peter after returning to Dallas, and to have worked with him over the years. He was, to the very end, looking forward and I well remember a conversation only a few months ago at his house when, frail though he was, he said with quiet earnestness, "there is work to do. . ."
Peter Stewart was very dear to me.Tricia Harris
